| IRNA - Pas fought back to defeat the home side
Barq 2-1 in their first-leg match of the League Cup in Shiraz, southern Iran, Sunday. Mohammad Amiri took the lead for Barq in the 43rd minute but the third Iran Pro League champion hit two after the interval to win three points. Meysam Maniei leveled the game on 56 minutes and Arash Borhani grabbed the winner two minutes later. In another match in Shahid Shiroudi stadium, central Tehran, SAIPA celebrated its qualification for the quarterfinals. SAIPA saw off Zob Ahan of Ardebil, northwest of Iran, 3-0 in the second leg. Mohsen Khalili opened the scoring in the 19th minute, Ebrahim Sadeqi made it 2-0 on 84 minutes, and Farhad Khangoli completed the visitor`s rout four minutes from normal time. Zob lost 1-0 in the first leg at home on May 16. SAIPA meets HOMA in the quarterfinal Friday. |
